Course description

This short, focussed training session is intended to help staff develop a basic understanding of records management, as well as what resources, policies and support are in place at ESCC to help gain better control over your records. This will help staff in their everyday work, as well as aid compliance with legislation and service requirements.


This session will focus on records management at ESCC and will cover:



  • What records are and what format these might be found in.

  • An overview of the records lifecycle.

  • What records management is and its benefits.

  • The risks of not managing our records well.

  • Resources available at ESCC including the Records Management Policy, Records Retention & Disposal Schedule, and the Records Centre.


There will be opportunities to raise and discuss solutions to your records management issues and concerns throughout

This training session is aimed at and relevant to all ESCC staff.

A basic understanding of good records management, how it benefits staff, and how to use the tools and support available at ESCC.
