Who is this workshop for?

This course is suitable for all staff who are involved in, or preparing for, change within the Council


Even though we encounter change constantly it can still be a challenging and disruptive experience. In this workshop we will look at the human side of change i.e. the neuroscience and psychology underpinning how we perceive and react to change in the external environment. By better understanding key brain processes, strengths and limitations we can improve our experience of change and know how to make it more positive and successful – for both ourselves and for others.

Learning outcomes

By the end of this workshop you will

  • Understand how the brain typically perceives, and responds to, external change

  • Be familiar with key neuroscience and psychology relating to personal change

  • Take away a range of models and tools for making positive and sustainable change

The workshop comprises:

  • Pre-reading (approx. 30mins)

  • Two 2-hour online sessions with a two-week gap

  • Suggested post-workshop activities and additional resources
