Course description

This interactive masterclass will enable participants to elevate their leadership skills and advance their effectiveness. Participants will evaluate different leadership theories, reflect on their own leadership style and the impact this has on the organisational culture for building trust which promotes an inclusive and diverse environment.

Training objectives

The masterclass consists of the following topics:

History of leadership.


The leader as hero/villain/servant.


Leadership v management.


Situational leadership.


Behavioural theories.


Transactional theories.


Transformational theories.


• Using different leadership styles in different situations


Personal reflections on leadership styles.


Compassionate leadership.


• Organisational culture


Handy’s four types of organisational culture.


The leader as role model.


The leader’s role in changing culture.


The impact of inclusion and diversity on leadership.

Learning outcomes

By the end of the session participants will:


• Understand different leadership styles, models, and theories.
• Know how to use different leadership styles in different situations.
• Understand organisational culture and own role as a leader.
• Understand organisational cultures, inclusion and diversity and their impact on leadership and management.
