The training is expected to be delivered through Microsoft Teams.

Is this course for you?
You have recently been upgraded to Office 365 and want to use some of the new facilities and keyboard shortcuts to work more effectively.
The course assumes that delegates are familiar with: basic Windows operations, including using a mouse, opening and saving files and working with Word, Excel and Outlook
To take part in this course, delegates will need an internet-connected device with camera and microphone, and an internet connection which can stream video in reasonable quality.


Training objectives

At the end of the course you will be familiar with some of the new features in Windows, including taskbar buttons and Jump Lists.

You will be able to use some new time-saving techniques to perform routine tasks in Word, Excel and Outlook.

A handout covering the main course topics will be provided.

Learning outcomes
Save time with Windows

  • Search for programs on the Start button

  • Add a program button to the Task Bar

  • Access a program’s Jump List

  • Dock program windows on the screen

  • View recent documents with File Explorer

  • Use Windows key shortcuts

Office features

  • Work with tabs and the Ribbon

  • Add buttons to the Quick Access Toolbar

Work with Word

  • Jump to the last edit point in a document

  • Use keyboard shortcuts to move around and select text

  • Save frequently-used text and graphics as AutoText and Quick Parts

Work with Excel


  • AutoFill numbers and dates

  • Use Flash Fill to extract data

  • Use Quick Analysis on tables of data

  • Work with Excel Tables

Work with Outlook


  • Switch between Simplified and Classic Ribbon

  • Pin buttons to the Simplified Ribbon

  • Reply to a message from Preview Pane

Delegates' email addresses as registered on the portal will be provided to the trainer for the purpose of conducting this training only.

Delegates should ensure that their work (not personal) email addresses are recorded - check and update as necessary through 'My Profile and Bookings/Change Contact Details'.
