Course description

This course will teach you to understand what mental health is, how to challenge stigma and common mental health issues.

You will have an introduction to looking after your own mental health and maintaining wellbeing. You will gain confidence to support others who may be experiencing mental health issues.

The MHA course is delivered by a quality assured Instructor accredited by the Royal Society for Public Health, who are trained to keep people safe and supported while they learn.

Training objectives

Through an interactive instructor-led live session, delegates will learn:

  • What mental health is and how to challenge stigma

  • Define mental health and some mental health issues

  • Understand factors that affect mental health

  • Ways to look after your own mental health and support wellbeing

  • Confidence to support someone who may be experiencing mental ill health

Learning outcomes

Course material will be posted to learners prior to the course starting. No pre-learning is required, all the learning is completed within the course.
