Summary

Improve your self-awareness, and build confidence and skills in understanding how to be inclusive. This will contribute to you providing a service that reflects the needs and expectations of all members of the community.

Full Description

Every modern organisation needs an equality and diversity policy. It’s no different at East Sussex County Council (ESCC).

Everything we do, as an employer and a provider of services, needs to be inclusive and reflect the needs and expectations of all members of the community.

In this course we’ll give you examples of how to behave in a way that reflects equality and diversity practice. We don’t expect you to memorise any legislation, but it helps if you are aware of some of the key points that impact on our services. This training is to set you on the right path to understanding how you can make a difference.

Objectives
  1. To understand how your own behaviours and attitudes can impact on other staff and service users.
  2. To understand how other staff service users’ behaviours and attitudes can impact on you.
  3. To identify areas of learning or concern to discuss with your manager.
  4. To improve awareness of fairness, equality and diversity in order to support  East Sussex County Council’s Equality Policies and Procedures.
